In Dedication to Chuck Jordan
On Thursday, December 9, 2010, Chuck Jordan, one of the legendary head designers for General Motors to follow in the footsteps of Harley Earl, passed away at the age 83. Chuck Jordan was a strong supporter of the Bortz Auto Collection. On July 25, 2010 Chuck came to show his support and
enthusiasm for the Bortz Motorama cars at The Concours d’Elegance of America at Meadow Brook. This was the first presentation of the restored 1955 Chevrolet Biscayne along with three other Motorama cars from the Bortz Auto Collection; the 1953 Pontiac Parisienne, 1953 Buick Wildcat I and the 1954 Pontiac Bonneville Special.
In 1992, Chuck Jordan also attended the Eyes on Design show to revisit the 1953 Buick Wildcat I then on display from the Bortz Auto Collection.

all those who love the automobile. Joe also commented that you could always ‘feel’ Chuck Jordan’s presence in a gathering not because of any drama but by his aura. Joe Bortz also commented that Chuck Jordan was
neither ‘old school’ nor ‘new school’ but just fresh and innovative design every time.
Joe Bortz said, “There is nothing that can completely express my gratitude and appreciation for Chuck Jordan’s influence on automotive design. The Bortz Auto Collection will dedicate the next showing of the 1955 Chevrolet Biscayne at Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance in March 2011 in March to the great designer Chuck Jordan. Great auto designers are like other famous artists, their influence and works of art live on forever”.
